Happy 25th Birthday South Africa

School and University are exciting places where people learn and create an identity. While you are doing it, a lot of people are looking out for you. A lot of your best friendships, the ones that last for your lifetime, are made there. For me, by age 25 paths started to split. Different opportunities and choices scattered people. By Company. By City. By Country. I still clung to the organisations I was a part of as replicas of those early group identities. They weren't. A 25-year-old starts to realise just how big the world is. How holey the groups we are a part of are. How finding yourself isn't that important. It's the paths that matter. It is who you meet that matters. We can get lost trying too hard to create borders around what we are and what we aren't.
