Becker discusses whether bailing people out in the Subprime crisis is a good thing or a bad thing. Well, not really... he discusses why it is a bad thing.
One of my pet peeves is the tendancy to blame people for outcomes. Yes, I agree with Posner that it is important to have legal remedies for fraud etc. but at some point people do need to take responsibility.
Even if it means taking responsibility for things that are not your fault. Not accepting false blame, but realising that the only person who can really sort your problems out is you. Pointing fingers doesn't help. Get on with it.
Maybe I am ranting. So what.
