Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington
I watched this again for the first time in a while. It is a very powerful movie.
What I found interesting was :
1) The awareness of prejudices we have
2) The challenge to change the prejudices you have
Admitting prejudice is pretty hard. Especially since we actually all have things that we don't like since we were taught not to like them, which I guess is what a prejudice is.
On a less serious note...
What makes someone an actor, and what makes a supporting actor?
You can have a Best Actor and a Best Actress in one movie...
Can you have two Best Actors (or Actresses)?
Reason I ask, is was Denzel Washington nominated for best actor (Tom Won), if not, he should have been.

I have no idea what counts as suporting actor or lead actor. I think its weird that anthony hopkins won best actor for Lambs but this spanish dude only won suporting actor in No Country. The spaniard had more screen time I'm sure (less line but more killing as well).
I'm a bit of a broken record on the subject of acting quality. So maybe it'll be more fun to not say anything and see if you remember what my view is!
I will have to actually read up on it...
oh wait, you were to lazy to put labels on your posts till recently.
hmm... that makes it a bit harder.
I'm like soooooooooo sorry.
I don't think I've blogged it. I think most hollywood actors are superb and find the periodic rush to praise a particular performance annoying. I think we decide someone gives a "great" performance a) if we like the character and b) if s/he acts far out of standard norms.
