Too many people say cut out the middleman. Imagine you did it with doctors, cut out the middleman, go to 1SurgeryDirect... they can give you step by step guidelines how to take out your own appendix. That is till you realise you mixed up your stomach from your chest and took your heart out instead.
Well... I am in the process of applying for a Work Visa for the UK, and if anything has the ability to strike the fear of God into me, it is Government Authorities and their need for documentation.
1) Proof that my degree was taught in English
2) Proof that my degree is of the equivalent standard to a UK degree
(which needs a seperate authority to verify!)
3) Proof of income
4) Original Drivers License (what must I do in the mean time?)
amongst other things....
But what gets me is that they want me to send the ORIGINALS!
Am I wrong to have no faith in the postal system? Why can't I send certified copies.
Anyway, back to my point... LONG LIVE THE MIDDLEMAN!
I remembered the Overseas Visitors Club, who sorted out my visa last time. They have offices just round the corner. It may make nothing easier, but I will have someone to moan at...
And for that, I am willing to pay.
