Sharks 13 - Hurricanes 13

7 games 6 wins 1 Draw

This game wasn't any better than the others. 20 minutes from time in a wet forwards game, the Sharks were 6-3 up and gaining momentum. The Canes got their AB prop yellow carded for blocking Terrblanche and things were looking cheery as we took the kick to extend the lead to 9-3. But we missed. Then, our very expensive new purchase from Tonga head butted a Hurricane and got red carded!!!! Grrrrr. Hurricanes converted the penalty to go 6-6.

Then load shedding kicked in. Got to love it. 12 minutes left to play and no power.

So I phoned a friend for 12 minutes of live commentary. One try each later and it was full time with Cockett lining up a kick to take a 16-13 lead and win the game. The kick was in the middle of the field on the 22 metre line. The kick hit the pole. The game was over.

Grrrrrrrrrr.

Oh well, 2 points is better than nothing.

From my recollection, the kick certainly wasn't in the middle of the field on the 22. It seemed further out, but more significantly was quite well to the left. It may not have been a difficult kick in normal conditions, but in that rain looked pretty tricky. I don't really blame the guy.

Also note: they also had a kick that hit the pole, so we can't feel too hard done on that score.

As I said, I was relying on cell phone commentary courtesy of load shedding, so I will have to take your word for it.

Still not chuffed about our Tongan's behaviour.
