The Age of Conversation

Mitch Joel talks about a book that was compiled last year and is being done again this year, which is basically a collaboration of 275 bloggers each writing an article of 400 words or less on a given topic.

I haven't read the book, but think it is a fascinating idea.

When email just came out, my brother David decided that a good way of improving our relationship would be to try write a collaborative story. We didn't get very far, but the idea was a good one. I would imagine that much like Theatre Sports, there would have to be `behind the scenes' rules, like `go with the flow' in order to make it work.

That idea is a little different though. I like the many answers to one question in one book idea.

Why do we always buy books written by people who agree with us? Wouldn't it be great if we could get books on subjects we are interested in, but written by many respectable authors with differing opinions.
