Morocco

Morocco is across the straights of Gibraltar from Spain. It is one of three countries to have both an Atlantic and Mediterranean coast (with France & Spain). When I visited earlier in the year, I sent post cards to London and Johannesburg. One Stamp London - 2,300km. Two Stamps Jozi - 7,500km. Africa is huge. I am from the Southern Tip. Morocco was my first trip to the North. It reminded me of a former capital of Europe, Istanbul (then Constantinople). Morocco is home to 34 million people with its largest city being Casablanca. The official languages are Arabic and Berber, with French also widely spoken. I was left with lingering memories of mint tea, tagines, lots of colour & the sound of the call to prayer.
